Hopeful????

 So confused!!

gave sucralfate before hauling. bit the chest bar a bunch. put dressage saddle with half pad with front shims.

tacked up, super nervous. hacked for 30 minutes. Super nervous. dredging equipment was loud. Spooked at a log... spooked at a tiny creek. but brave.

got to arena for lesson and trotted around. felt better than at the home arena. more forward but still feels a bit behind the leg. did a few laps then sat for a minute then jacel got on.

jacels findings: walk feels fine. trot feels bad. canter not great on right. feels like right shoulder area. lame steps right front intermittently. lame on tighter right circles and when first tracking to right. right lead canter feels icky like she had to swing her right front laterally to pick it up the first time. very much feels right front up high to jacel. She didn't think she felt stabby/slammy up front... didn't think that her downshifting when you take your leg off was an issue and felt like she was fussy/rooty in the contact because i was being too nice and created that learned behavior.

she sounded heavier up front to me. still looks kind of stabby. but definitely looked better than she feels under saddle.

i got on after and she did feel much better. more forward, more sound, more willing. still wanted to invert and brace but settled. canter felt better than usual. then cantered some ground poles in a grid and jumped a vertical and jumping fine. kept landing left lead (which, last week was right lead) but then landed right when I asked a few times, so... ??? Definitely feeling better overall... is it the wedges up front? The long warm up? The dressage saddle? jacels riding?

So... realized vet appt was on a work day (since I changed fri to thurs) so had to reschedule. asked about neck rads/ecvm... barrow said not really, uga probably could... so asked ellis... she sounded like she didn't think it was ecvm and to start with a biopsy, so.... made new appt with barrow for her to assess... submitting hair tomorrow to equiseq for genetic testing (way cheaper than biopsy and less invasive) and will go from there. May consider treating for lyme.. may wait to test. will wait for hair sample and tick titers before treating with succeed because don't want to do succeed and doxy at the same time. and will keep riding "more insistent" than before and keep playing with saddles. also hoping to get Cindy out soon to check them.  Because... dressage saddle created rubs too. Grr.. maybe the back on track pads? Will play with pads and no half pad next ride.

She was tired.. . lots of cantering and work today but she did good. So.. who knows????
