Glitter Feets
Ha ha. She's so embarassed! But, I needed a smile. She got her feet done today. She had lost the white (right) hind so I figured she was a little sore on that one from walking around on the frozen mud ruts. Turns out, she had an abscess on that foot as well as the other hind. Oops! But both were open and draining. So Sarah was awesome and packed them and let her soak in the boots while we did her front feet and then Fleck. Then we put shoes back on. She graduated out of the hind wedges, which is nice. Especially since she was so butt high. And still no casting this time. She almost thought about pulling her hinds entirely, but decided not to yet. I guess because of the wedges and then the abscesses. So we've still got all four shoes. And then I mentioned that I had seen blue sparkly ones and she said that you had to dye them and it was a pain, but... "I do have glitter!". I giggled and said that I needed a smile, so screw it... lets' glitter her up. Sadly she didn't have purple. I opted for green. I'm not so sure Lyric is amused, but...
I had given her some trazadone that morning so that she was a bit more cooperative for Sarah. Since last time she had to redo the one shoe because she wiggled at the wrong time. And it started out kind of okay but then about the time she got the two hinds pulled off a big loud well drilling truck drove down the culdesac and freaked her out. She was literally shaking she was so scared. So... I just aced her. Because... why not?! It was just easier on everyone. And then she was fine and stood pretty well for the rest of her visit. So, we'll probably do that next time to just to make sure and then I'll try her without it.
