Bonus Lunging
So... after the big freeze... we got tornado watches and flash flood warnings. It sure did storm here. It starting raining and storming before I got home from getting beet pulp and my pills so they were already wet. The low wasn't supposed to be that low though... like, 60. I fed them and left them in to dry off but then by 11 pm it looked like maybe only rain... and the storms would be north of us. And it didn't show massive rains. So... I tossed them back out. And naked, because again, fairly warm. Well...it POURED. Like... the bottom dropped out. Repeatedly. And there was more lightning and thunder, although nothing crazy. Of course. Oh well. Both girls were shivering a little this morning though. I felt so bad. So... warm feed and lots of hay. I left them in to dry off as it was still storming. Luckily Mike said he would turn them out after the rain quit and it was supposed to warm up even more today, so...
And it did! And I got lucky and managed to get home from work around 3:30ish, so I was able to sneak in a lunge with Lyric. We started with our pillar walks and focused a little bit on yielding to the inside rein and inside leg in hand work. She was doing well, so then we went to lunging. And she was good. She actually even stretched down a little bit. Almost even a peanut roll for a few strides. And at the trot too! Not just the walk. Then afterwards I was trying to take a picture and she just stood there, with her head lowered, all by herself and tranced out. So I let her.
