Rained out... but not

So... while I'm super grateful to have been on a cruise during the hottest week of the year... and while i'm also glad that it's August 4th and the high was only 67 degrees today.... it's soooo much rain. Yay that my gardens stayed watered and yay that the grass is happy. And yay that it brought the cooler weather (false Fall). But, I want to ride!!!! I haven't ridden in 10 days and not that much prior to that. And it rained all day today. Like... ALL Day! And it rained most of last night and yesterday afternoon. And before that apparently although I haven't been home so... hard to say. And it looks like tomorrow it'll be more of the same. Guess it was sort of pointless to take today off. Except.. not really. Because I caught up on laundry, went grocery shopping, and got to finally sleep well and sleep in a little bit. And I picked up my truck and trailer after it got new tires, new breaks, the roof sealed, and some little things fixed. And my truck got deleted.

So when I got home (which... oh my gosh.. thank goodness I had no ponies in the trailer with me on the way home because at the intersection with the light in Madison off 441... I pulled up behind a tractor trailer. We were stopped... and suddenly the tractor trailer started rolling back into me. I was laying on the horn and he kept coming. He finally stopped just inches in front of me and then.. rolled back into me. Luckily he barely tapped me but he left two marks on my bumper. Then he just... left! The light turned green and he went. There was a farrier next to me and we stopped at the next light and he rolled down his window and was like "Did he just hit you?" I told him yes and he said "I'll get him" and took off after him. Ha! I started to chase him but then realized I was a girl... and didn't want to get hurt/killed/etc. And I was almost out of diesel too, so... I gave up and pulled over and called the cops. Luckily i had his license plate but they didn't care. But at least I have a form for insurance if something happens to the truck). Anyways... when I got home and finished lunch... it was misting/drizzling. So.. I thought... well.. might as well work ponies. Plus they were up by the arena and I wanted to give Fleck lunch so I headed out there and gave them cookies and then Dan wanted to go first, so I took him to the arena to play. Then Lyric was up next so i grabbed her and we headed to the arena.

I did some pillar walks with her. Unfortunately Dan had eaten most of the treats I had stuffed my pockets with so I had to be a bit stingy with her. But we did our pillar walks. Then we did some turn on the forehand and turn on the haunches. We did the slightly bigger circle with the hind end vs the front end too. Then we walked the poles. Then we lunged. She was a bit lazy today. She trotted happily but it wasn't as explosive as I expected (or at all) considering the week off and cooler weather. But she was good. And as usual, when I jogged with her, she was taking bigger strides. We trotted the poles a few times and she was really good. We did a few trot walk trot transitions and then... I was going to be done but decided to do a tiny bit more. So we side passed the pole a few times. She did really well considering we haven't done it in forever.

Good pony! No photos as it was rainy and my phone was struggling to cooperate. But I did get a photo from Lexi when I was on the ship. Ha ha! Oh my!

Oh, and then tonight... I wanted to work on her fascial lines. While on the cruise I was able to study ONE fascial line and it sounded like it was Lyrics problems. So I did that and maybe it helped. Then i adjusted her. And it started out well. But then she got all anxious and nervous for some reason. And then I was trying to release her jaw and thought I felt a sharp wolf tooth and then she bit me. Not on purpose, but holy cow it hurt. I thought I was going to vomit... I got that icky nauseous feeling. And then she was more distracted... so we had to just sit a minute before we could continue. I was able to finish though. I didn't quite get the nice relaxed mare I wanted and I didn't get to do some fascial work because she was just... too anxious. But I did toss the bemer on her at dinner, so.. hopefully this will help some of her crookedness. She was very stuck in the her left shoulder and cranial ribs. And I believe that left functional line was pretty restricted. Both sides of her pelvis were stuck.. .lots of lumbar twist... and her poll was super tight. Although I'm not sure I was able to fully release her poll. I'll have to try again tomorrow.
