WHOOO HOOOOOO!!!!

I'm sooooo excited!!! I FIXED HER!!!! Well, I was able to use Dr. DeClue's protocol and fix her. But still!    I met Kelli today at Ashland with just Lyric to see how she did again. She took a minute to load but she loaded nicely after she thought it through. We got to Ashland and she was happy snacking on hay. I pulled my saddle out again and decided to put it on her to see how badly off it was and if I realistically thought they could fix it for her. And... honestly.. it looked like it almost fit her. Which, talking to Tasida... she did get wider between Tasida's tracing and Amy's tracing. I'm sure the longing helped a lot. The rehab protocol Dr. DeClue had us do and also the pillar work and thoracic sling work I was doing. It actually looked like it fit well enough that I was willing to try riding in it. I also had Kelli's half pad with shims to try if she said no. Mine's still at the house. Maybe I"ll remember to grab it now.    So we headed to the ...

I think she's sound!!!

Well, sound enough! Hauled to Ashland with Dan. groomed. then tacked up in kellis' saddle.  Seemed to fit pretty well. Lunged briefly. A little shuffly but got better when made to move out.  Got on... felt pretty darn sound. Just weak. Lost her hind end two or three times.  Fussy but not terrible. Able to get her to try and lift her back and go round some. Really, not a bad ride at all! Got off without pushing it.  Untacked. then ponied off Dan. Went to lake and splashed. then hacked around lake to XC field. Then played a bit. walked down the bank, over the middle ditch, through the water and up the bank to get out, and trotted a few logs. accidentally cantered a log. Also had to cross two extra "creeks' because of the rain.  headed back to the trailers and let them graze while I waited for kelli to go get her dog across the street and come back. Good kids

Shoes are back on!

Got shod today. Patrick is really happy with her feet. Good girl Groomed at trailer. walked to arena and did pillars and thoracic sling work. then lunged 5 minutes each way. Much freer and tracking up better though not as quick. still a hair braced in her neck but relaxed into it. then got on bareback with bridle and bareback pad. Fussy but not terrible. felt mostly sound... a few funky steps tracking right... right hind? left hind? right front? left front? just body? nothing at all??  Did probably about 5-10 minutes of trot with some walk breaks. Rewarded with cookies. Then rode home via the pasture and did a tiny bit of trot in the field. Very good girl.  Rinsed off and turned back out. not painful when I palped her scapular area, so yay!
