Getting the hang of it!
Jumping comes much more easily for Lyric. Well... she seems to grasp it quicker. ;) And trail riding.
XC clinic with Aubrey. Started out quite squirrely. Attached to Indy and literally veering into him practically. split up and it got easier. Worked on balancing the canter... open my hands wide, but keep my elbows at my side. ride from my scapulas... so I can be strong and use my core. Sit with my butt crack in the saddle... and lift my pubic bone so I'm sitting up. no tipping. keep the outside rein to turn and keep her from falling in. Even when the outside rein is the left rein and her nose is pointed far left and Im trying to go right. Hold that outside rein and open the inside rein. do not cross the neck.
started out trotting a log. then did a mini course. Very drunk and squirrely and all over the place and I was all over the place. Finally got her moving forward and was a bit braver and bolder about sending her and it worked better. had to close the doors with my wide open reins and my channeling legs and thighs squeezing. But our last course was pretty good!! (lots of refusals first).
then hacked with missy to lake. still won't go in. THen hacked to take her back to halfshire, then we hacked home alone. Came to the fake creek... now shinier from oils? said no... repeatedly. finally got off and walked her over it a few times. took a minute though. Then got on and walked over it with some hesitation and jumped it, but did it.
GOOD GIRL!!!
