Sound!!!

Yay! She's sound! I'm so glad it was just the shoe. Sara said she stood great for it too. Good girl

We rode today. It was a glorious morning! Sunny and warm but not humid, and a nice breeze too. Perhaps more than a breeze, but not horrible. We had a good ride, but.. I was frustrated. She's just.... so tight in her back. She can't let go yet and lift her back and then I start feeling like I shouldn't be riding her yet, because I'm just creating more issues. But, I want to ride because... I want to ride! Ugh. And I don't necessarily know if I'm helping her with groundwork either. She just doesn't seem to be willing to really reach and stretch. And I know... she's young, she's growing, she doesn't know.... it takes time. And I agree.. and I also think that perhaps she needs some more bodywork to help her unlock. I did start her on methocarb this week to see if that helped. And she'll get seen by Christy. And we'll start bemering again next week and maybe Peri can come work on her too. And I will probably start lunging her before every ride. Not because she needs it because she's rowdy and not because I'm scared. But because I think she needs to learn how to reach down and out in the trot and because she still doesn't quite get the whole relationship to contact and seeking the bit yet... I can't manipulate her so I just have to allow it to happen at this point. And it's easier on the lunge. So.. we'll so that.

But there were some good parts to our ride. She got the left lead canter really decently at least one of the times. And she was a bit more up today but she wasn't naughty. Even when we were coming down to the walk from our canter to trot to walk and Jeans baby horse flipped over the roundpen and landed on his back on the ground as we were looking that way! (Luckily he was fine). She got a little nervous and tight for a few circles but then settled. And we had a nice walk. And some nice trot with her reaching. But overall, this ride was a much tenser ride and more inverted than it has been. Sigh...
