Good dressage

Man.. it is soooo hot and humid this morning. SOOOO steamy!! Lyric and I were both sweating up a storm after our ride. But it was a good ride. I ended up riding her at home because of life... She's the only horse not missing shoes. SHOES... with an S at the end... Both Dan and Funny are missing two shoes each. And.. ha... Lyric was missing two last week. This weather has been miserable. But anyways... Patrick was coming "this afternoon" so I didn't want to be at Ashland when he was on his way. Plus we needed to do some dressage and with her showing this weekend, she didn't have to haul.

So we headed up to the arena and did our pillar work and thoracic sling work. And then i got on and we rode. It was a pretty easy ride... nothing too strenuous. And honestly... I probably could have done more or hacked out a little but... it was just so steamy and we got a good ride in so I left it at that. We practiced the basics... moving her body... lifting her back... not bracing... giving in the barrel. And we went through our test. (although apparently I misread and it's Test B instead of A and we practiced A, but.. oh well). We did struggle with the halt... she wants to halt with the left hind back too. Like how she grazes. I'll have to work on that in hand I think. It's so ingrained.

But yep.. good ride!
