Hhhhmmmmmmmm

Well... I Rode at home today and she is lame. Sigh...

We started at the walk... she is still mincy and short and I'm having to kick/squeeze almost every stride. She doesn't want to stride out and when I insist, she breaks into the trot instead. But she's lame at the trot too. Dangit!!

So, I got off and lunged her to see... It felt like it was front end... and it looks like the right front. So then I lunged her without the saddle, because I'm curious as it seems to be increasingly worse since we got her dressage saddle and our jump lessons haven't been as bad. But she was still lame. And maybe she would have worked out of it, but... she's been on previcox for at least 3 or 4 days now, so... I decided not to push it. Sigh. We walked home.

Bless Patrick though! He was here at 8 am this morning putting a shoe back on Funny (thank goodness as she's now taking Lyrics place at the show). And then I texted him again and told him no rush as I had already swapped ponies for the show, but I wondered if he thought maybe it could be her pads? He said abscess possibly. But he came by AGAIN at 4:30 and pulled her shoe. He thought RF too. She was most painful lateral heel area on the right front, not at all medial heel, but then mildly reactive both heels on the left front. He suspected maybe an abscess but couldn't find anything. He did say that she had A TON of sole growth, so maybe she was foot sore from the pads. Or maybe the packing material was wedging into her frog sulcus on that lateral side and created tension, so then she shifted to the left front and made herself sore there too? We replaced both shoes without any pads and we'll see how she does.

I also adjusted her since I had her out. And... interestingly she was stuck on her right SI joint today vs normally the left. If I'm remembering correctly. So... who knows?? Hopefully this will fix her.
