kelly eaton lesson: keep her forward, she's lazy, want her to jump out of stride not chip in. when she chips she jumps croup high and that throws my balance off

ride her shoulders by moving my hands sideways (at the same time and evenly) keep my hands low, balance her running and tilting by riding her shoulders sideways to stand her back up, which will balance her and effectively slow her down a hair, but then i can ride forward

Waaaaahhhhhhhh :( Just when she was getting FUN! Kelli and I had scheduled a vet visit with Dr. Marquez for Dan and Marvin. I decided to have him look at Lyric too as I was worried she was still having some issues. She's been fussier lately again and losing her hind end on occasion. Nothing major, but... she's also never had a real true lameness evaluation done. So.. why not!?  I'm really glad I did. The horses were in all day because it was an all day affair. And Marvin was here too, so that added a little bit to her stress. Maybe stress isn't the right word, but her routine was definitely off! And that makes her nervous. We did Marvin's vet visit first, then Dan, and then it was Lyrics turn.  Dr. Marquez started off with a physical exam and palpating her. He noted how knock kneed she was. I know... I know. But she ain't wicked! That would be her brother and sister. Ha!! Teasing... they're just... silly.  Anyways.. we had a lesson today with Kelly Eaton. I felt a little bad that she didn't get the day off, but less bad since we didn't run XC yesterday. Plus... I hate to lose a chance to lesson with Kelly and this month she was only scheduled for 1 day so far. (Plus XC schooling at FENCE but Dan gets to go to that!). So ... yeah. Sorry girl! But you get Monday off. :) And we did dressage instead of jumping.   No lesson photos, but this was after. She's so shiny!! So we worked on some leg yields again today to get her more consistent and even in her connection. We started tracking left and it felt pretty good to me. Kelly kept insisting that I keep her more straight. Then we went the other direction and Kelly said it was better.. she was straighter.
