Awesome XC Schooling
Tried to blind myself last night - formaldehyde and iodine in the eyeball but good to go this am
rode dan first then hauled lyric to full gallop
luckily super quiet day so just us and jamie with mystery and half way through danielle and rusty joined us.
w/t/c acceptably in the field. but no hills. ;)
then jumped starter log. stopped at first attempt. Beth told me to not let her get so strung out because when she's big and scrambly she's scrambly and not balanced. Then it makes it harder for me. But if I collect her up into a compact trot or canter, she is balanced and then once she "locks on" to the fence I can send her forward. Don't throw her away though and definitely don't tip my shoulders at her. Stay in the back seat and send her and soften my hands but keep a hold. it works!
then went and did a blue top cabin, she stopped, but beth said I expected her to stop. came again and rode and she was good, then did a teeny roll top and then a fairly big log.. like an actual downed tree log. She jumped it but i had to ride
went to the ditch. she was awesome. old hat. calmly walked then trotted through, even the bn ditch. Add a little leg to encourage her to jump. then did a little starter cabin thing, first try
went to other ditch, also great. also great with banks. even cantered down a decent sized bank. then did the water. super good girl. tried a BN fence but had a stop. ugh.. but good on 2nd attempt. all me. she will go if I do it right.
then went and did a BN ramp thing. Eeeks. Stopped at first but went second time and then third. then did a course of 3 fences to finish. a starter fence to start but one of those wierd picket fence with a base ones... then a small roll top, and then finished with a bright green topped cabin that was BN. We jumped it the first time!!!! All 3 of them!! Granted the green one wasn't super smooth but she did it. Came again and jumped it more smoothly. good girl!
Did have a bloody nose in the very beginning. right nostril. :( ugh... but not anymore after that.
got a bath and liniment and a fan and then hauled home. good girl!! So calm. And happier without scoot boots behind.
did scrape her knee though landing on one of the jumps. ooops
