Crazy day with scheduling with Kelli... then sprinkler attack with dan.

Finally got to take Lyric. She loaded up pretty much immediately but did come back off before i was ready. So we did it again and she stayed put and I got the butt bar up and everything was fine. Hauled pretty well to ashland. 

unloaded great. tacked up fine. Went to mounting block and was good but didn't want to stand still for photos. got in arena and did our walks... trotted and she's lame. pretty darn lame. so sat on the buckle and videod kelli's ride. good girl. 

hacked to XC but super lame so got off to check feet. No rocks. opted to walk to XC and then decide. Wanted desperately to get on and walk her over the obstacles but then two other riders showed up and.. nerves and they were xc schooling so... just go on and walked up hill to backside of jump arena and went through those woods. She stopped and debated going over the big rocks but did after a few seconds deliberation and was calm about it too. then stepped in a hole and didn't react at all. a bit nervous past the jump pole shed but marvin led so she was good. 

got off to walk down the rocky part. untacked calm and hosed fine. 

then loaded up pretty well. same thing.. came off once but got right back on and stood. Good girl. hauled home nicely and then turned out. stayed for snuggles.

Waaaaahhhhhhhh :( Just when she was getting FUN! Kelli and I had scheduled a vet visit with Dr. Marquez for Dan and Marvin. I decided to have him look at Lyric too as I was worried she was still having some issues. She's been fussier lately again and losing her hind end on occasion. Nothing major, but... she's also never had a real true lameness evaluation done. So.. why not!?  I'm really glad I did. The horses were in all day because it was an all day affair. And Marvin was here too, so that added a little bit to her stress. Maybe stress isn't the right word, but her routine was definitely off! And that makes her nervous. We did Marvin's vet visit first, then Dan, and then it was Lyrics turn.  Dr. Marquez started off with a physical exam and palpating her. He noted how knock kneed she was. I know... I know. Basically he found that she was super sore in her pelvis at the tuber sacrales. And then he found stifle effusion. She was also a bit reactive in her suspensori

But she ain't wicked! That would be her brother and sister. Ha!! Teasing... they're just... silly.  Anyways.. we had a lesson today with Kelly Eaton. I felt a little bad that she didn't get the day off, but less bad since we didn't run XC yesterday. Plus... I hate to lose a chance to lesson with Kelly and this month she was only scheduled for 1 day so far. (Plus XC schooling at FENCE but Dan gets to go to that!). So ... yeah. Sorry girl! But you get Monday off. :) And we did dressage instead of jumping.   No lesson photos, but this was after. She's so shiny!! So we worked on some leg yields again today to get her more consistent and even in her connection. We started tracking left and it felt pretty good to me. Kelly kept insisting that I keep her more straight. Then we went the other direction and Kelly said it was better.. she was straighter.
