Redemption

 Well, maybe. :)

I let Lyric have the day to herself yesterday. We needed some time apart. Ha ha. No, I really just ran out of time. And today... I ran out of time too. Which, is a little sad as it was a beautiful day and it looks like it's going to rain for most of the days the next two weeks. But.. today there was still fun to be had and good works accomplished. I had Freddie in the morning and Dan got his feet done and Funny got a trim. And then I tossed them out for a bit and ate breakfast and cleaned the house. I had organized a day of all of the BTMM bodyworkers to come together to meet up and just.. brainstorm together... share tips and tricks...  And.. two showed up. Ha ha. It was fine though. One was pregnant and far away. Another was exposed to Covid and quarantining. Another couldn't get clients moved around. We almost cancelled but decided to go ahead and do it. So Meg and Cathy came and we played with Dan. Meg did the nerve release for Dan's sciatica (they suspected it too) and we all kind of talked about him. Then we had pizza. And then we grabbed Lyric.

We took her to the arena and I showed them how I released and straightened the sternum and a few other fun things I do that aren't technically adjustments... more just generic bodywork. And then we played with Lyric a little bit doing some pillar work and some massaging.

And then it was getting chilly and later so we decided to call it a day. When they left it was 4:45, so... kind of too late to bother trying to tack up and ride. And honestly, I just wasn't feeling it. But I did decide to practice trailering because... if I didn't have time tomorrow.. and it rained... and then it would be Tuesday again and I didn't want to get stuck at Rana's again. So I grabbed my stick and the rope halter and grabbed Lyric. We went to the trailer parking and did a tiny bit of in hand work and then I pointed at the ramp and she went up. Halfway and then I gave her a cookie. Then she went the rest of the way in. Wow! Okay! I had put some feed in a pan in there so I let her eat some and then she backed off. We did a few more circles and then I pointed again and she went in again, most of the way. We did this about 4 or 5 times but I never closed the butt bar. Then one more time and she started to get a little nervous and pawed, so I decided to back her off, do a few more circles and try again but not do the butt bar up. So that's what we did. She went in again and relaxed and I asked her to back off. Good girl! So hopefully we can try again tomorrow and then all weekend and then it maybe won't be a big deal. And maybe this weekend I can even take her to Ashland with Dan and pony her and make an actual trip that isn't as stressful as going to Rana's to put another good notch in the belt.
