Lyric is such a love! She definitely doesn't choose voilence. She chooses love!  Today was dental day and I took Dan for a hack in the morning. Dr. Diane came an hour early so I had basically unloaded him and was blowing out the barn aisle as she pulled up. They were all hanging out in the barn, so I thought all was well. Well, Lyric got excited by something (or maybe thought she was going to be ridden??) and hightailed it out to the hay feeder, so of course everyone else followed. I went and caught Funny and Dan and then Fleck followed us in but Lyric didn't come. I had to go catch her once they got started on Dan. BUT... she nickered at me when I walked up and didn't run away.  We did her teeth and they looked good. But she's going to be an every 6 monther for a long time because she has "Thoroughbred teeth". She is a lightweight with the drugs... she stayed drunk for a good bit. We finished up with Fleck and he had three loose teeth. Poor dude. He did surpr...

Got to take Charmin home. Good pony. Didn't choose violence at the trailer this morning despite chaos. I saved a cat. She snuggled with Grace.  Great ride! Got brave.. put on spurs. MOVED my hands instead of holding... Encourage with a soft hand but firm shoulders. GET LEFT BEHIND... and boy did I at the one jump... almost landed on her butt! So shiny SUPER STAR! Such a fun team.. .love showing with this group. (Add videos)

The girls are testing me today!! I almost came off both! What a weird day when Danny is the good one!! ;)  I won the triple crown today! I rode all three ponies! All three at Ashland even, which... that was a lot of hauling back and forth. Doh! One day they're gonna have to learn to stay in the trailer! Lyric was my last ride of the day. We had a jump lesson with Jacel and rode with Laura and Smarty. It was fun. I didn't get there early enough to hack around but we walked around the arena catching up with Jacel and chatting. Then we warmed up trotting and cantering. Lyric was good. She felt a hair lazy but did move forward when I asked with my leg so I didn't feel the need for "shock and awe". I did test it though! We started off with a grid. It was a short 4 jump one stride line with placing poles. We started out with just poles and the last two jumps and then once we did that a few times, she put the other two jumps up. It was just cross rails, but tall cross ...

Worth the wake up call

Jacel offered to do lessons this morning because she had to cancel Tuesday but she wanted to ride her horse too, so she asked if we could do early. How early, cause....? :) Ha! She initially said 7 am. Ugh... I mean... I guess. I did tell her that it was hard because I had to leave for Ashland at 6 to make a 7 am lesson and it's hard to feed and load in the dark. So.. she settled on 7:30. ;) But.. it meant that I could get one ridden and then get another ridden and still have the day with Mike.    So I set my alarm for 5:45 and hoped for the best. And brrrrr it was chilly this am! I managed to get them all fed and caught Lyric easily and she loaded like a champ! The good hay in the hay bag might have helped. We got to Ashland at 7 am and it was still fairly dark! Like probably too dark to jump, so good thing we bumped it up 30 minutes. I got tacked up and we headed out. And it was so pretty!! It was worth it. It was foggy and the sun was rising and it was just quiet and...
